as of September 2007, this piece was fearured in the sept/oct Illustrator Showcase issue of Create Magazine!

Within You, Without You: Self Portrait at 24

this a very personal piece for me

i finally had an artistic vision to express how i feel at the peak of being high

the horn turning into a snake comes from something i actually witnessed:
one week i'm at a party, outside and sitting by a bonfire (and quite rightly stoned, so i'm going into this primal goddess energetic, hence the buffalo woman)
i look across the fire and see a girl twisting a ram's horn over and over in her hands, as i watch her i notice the horn is changing shape, after a while i realize it wasn't a horn at all but a snake . . . i'd be lying if i said it didn't twist my mind.

this picture brings to mind so many feelings and thoughts. Once on an acid trip I listened to an entire tool album in a large dark room with my boyfreind. we sat in front of humongous window and watched cars go by. this picture kind of hits at what i was feeling then. Its a very good peice of art

pretty damn cool- i like the colors a lot, and the subject is mysterious and earthy.
